Lifecycle

Recommended sequence

1. Create or import certificate
2. Associate it with the station
3. Use it on relevant partners
4. Renew it before it expires
Operations

Self-signed

  1. Generate local certificate.
  2. Assign it to the station.
  3. Use it for tests or controlled environments.

Import

  1. Receive the file issued by the CA.
  2. Import it with its password if applicable.
  3. Assign it to station or partner as needed.

Renewal

  1. Detect upcoming expiration.
  2. Renew without breaking partners.
  3. Verify outgoing and incoming messages.
